THE FREQUENT FILER

EDGAR Next Enrollment: The System Is Experiencing Issues. Here's What It Means For You.

The SEC’s EDGAR Next compliance deadline of September 15, 2025, is approaching fast. While the new system promises a modernized filing experience, it has introduced several technical challenges that could threaten your ability to file on time.

If you haven’t completed your enrollment yet, you need to understand what’s going on—and why you must act now.

What We’re Seeing in the System:

Based on our direct experience, the EDGAR Next Filer Management dashboard is experiencing several issues that could lead to delays and filing failures:

  • Disappearing User Groups:You may find that delegated user roles vanish and only reappear after you log out and back in. This means you could run into glitches when trying to assign individual users to specific EDGAR accounts.
  • Delayed Email Notifications:Enrollment and delegation confirmations can take 24 hours or more to arrive. This means a 14-day window to accept a role can shrink to 12 or 13 days, leaving you with less time than you think.
  • Form ID Submission Delays:We’ve seen confirmation emails for Form ID submissions delayed by 1-2 days, extending the SEC’s typical approval timeline to 7-10 business days. This means your time-to-market extends due to a timeline that is out of your control.
  • CCC Validation Errors:You may not be viewing the most current version of your filer’s updated CIK/CCC in the dashboard. This means you could be inserting outdated credentials into your software, leading to a failed submission.
  • General Performance Slowness:The dashboard slows down significantly during peak hours, particularly in the late afternoon. This means the site takes a long time to load, affecting your productivity when it matters most.

Don’t Risk a Missed Deadline.

These aren’t just minor glitches; they’re critical issues that can put your firm at risk of a failed submission or a missed filing deadline if you are not fully enrolled by September 15.

You need to take proactive steps to ensure a seamless transition and avoid these issues.

What You Should Do Now:

  • Confirm your credentials. Ensure your CIK, CCC, and passphrase are valid.
  • Create and verify Login.gov accounts for all individuals involved in SEC filing.
  • Verify delegations immediately after your company is enrolled.
  • Report persistent issues to the SEC and your EdgarAgents representative.

If you haven’t started or completed enrollment, act now. The system is experiencing delays and instability—waiting could mean missing a filing.
